PhD project: Outsider Cinema: Marginal Filmmakers in the American Exploitation Film 1960-1985, focussing on the concept of ‘outsider cinema’ through the analysis of the production and reception of the unorthodox output of marginalised filmmakers such as Doris Wishman, Andy Milligan, and Jamaa Fanaka, working within the American exploitation field of the sixties and seventies, combining analysis of production conditions, reception, and film texts.
