DSIT Cyber: Trustworthiness, Design and Careers Project

Building on the success of the Cyber Foundry projects, this programme offers the opportunity for the farming community to increase awareness of cyber security and the technologies they use to manage their agricultural businesses.

The Cyber: Trustworthiness, Design and Careers Project has two main purposes and aims: to educate, and raise awareness of cyber security within the farming community when using technology to run and manage their businesses.

This Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é project funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology have produced a dynamic and informative cyber security animation specifically designed to give farmers essential knowledge about cyber security best practices. Cyber security is integral to the modern agricultural industry's success and sustainability.

The second part of the project is to address key barriers and promote cyber security and cyber more generally as a career path for young people and school leavers who fall into three main groups and communities.

  • Women
  • Neurodiverse community
  • Black and Asian ethnic minority communities

The project is in the process of producing 4 animations which aim to address and demystify concerns and perspectives from these specific groups tailored to those living in Lancashire & Cumbria. As well as discussing the types of skills required and the potential careers open to them in the cyber sphere.

We have done this through research gathered from several focus groups and surveys conducted at sector and community relevant events. We now have a good understanding of the issues and knowledge gaps to be able to produce accessible explainer videos that address the key points highlighted within that research.
