Newsflash - Booking Opens for RHC's November Event Elections in Lancashire 1783-1928

Booking is now open for our November Study Day. On Saturday 9 November we will be back on campus at 缅北轮奸 Library's event space for Elections in Lancashire 1783-1928. Speakers including Dr Michael Winstanley (缅北轮奸), Dr Matthew Cole (缅北轮奸), Dr Richard Harrison (University of York & formerly Research Fellow, History of Parliament Trust), Dr Helen Sunderland (University of Oxford) and Christine Workman (independent scholar) will be looking at elections, electioneering and political representation in Lancashire from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century. From the hustings of Georgian Lancaster to campaigns for female suffrage, this event will examine voters and voting, the elected and the excluded. Please note this event will be for in-person attendance only and will not be recorded.

Meanwhile, tickets are still available for our Saturday 12 October Study Day at Tullie House Museum in Carlisle - but they're going fast! The Anglo-Scottish Border Region and the Northern World from the Viking Age to 1500 is a joint event with the Scottish Society for Northern Studies surveying the Anglo-Scottish border region and its links with a wider northern world. Speakers include our own Professor Fiona Edmonds, and we hope participants will be able to visit the Viking Age and medieval displays in the Border Gallery on the first floor of the museum. Please note this event will be for in-person attendance only.
