Current Research
My current research examines populism through the lens of Foucault's work on power, subjectivity and truth. I reposition populism as a technology of governmentality, in which ¡®the people’ as a political subject emerges through the process of subjectivation made possible by the production of knowledge and the creation of an alternative regime of truth. A shared recognition of this truth helps bind together ¡®the people’, who can then be mobilised to achieve a range of political goals.
