Dr Jocelin Zhou

Dr Jocelin Lingxia Zhou is a Lecturer in Chinese Studies and CI Teaching Lead at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é. Before joining Lancaster, Dr Zhou was a Chinese lecturer at Princeton University and the teaching lead for advanced Chinese at Princeton in Beijing. She has also taught at Waseda University, SOAS and Beijing Normal University. Jocelin is currently the Chair of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS), having previously served as Director of Membership and Communications. She is also a member of American Association for Applied Linguistics. Her research interests include AI-assisted Chinese learning, inclusive language pedagogy, intercultural education language policy and planning, and language attitude and ideology.

I welcome PhD proposals in the fields of Language Policy and Planning, Language Pedagogy, and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. I am also interested in proposals exploring the interplay between language and society, particularly with a focus on East Asia.
